Register your organization.


The process below can take between three business days and five weeks, so please make sure to begin early. 

  1. Obtain a DUNS Number. This usually takes 1-2 business days.
  2. Register with the System Award Management (SAM). Complete the online registration process. You also need the authorizing official of the organization to send a notarized letter to SAM and an EIN. This can take up to 2 weeks.
  3. Register with Grants.gov. Click the register link in the top banner and complete the on-screen instructions. You usually get registered the same day.
  4. Assign an Administrator of Record (AOR).

 

Consider the following questions for your organization.


  1. What social challenge does your organization want to affect?
  2. Does your organization have financial, employee, accountability systems in place?
  3. What are your measurable goals?
  4. Do you have a plan, program and curriculum?
  5. Have you secured a letter from the curriculum publisher? Some grants require a letter be eligible to receive funds. Contact us to obtain your letter of support.
  6. Is there any evidence that your plan, program or curriculum will work?
  7. How are you going to implement and measure effectiveness of your initiative?
  8. Have you begun to partner with community organizations and obtained partnership agreements?

Build an implementation plan.


  1. Gather baseline health data.
  2. Create awareness of community stakeholders regarding the issue you will address.
  3. Host REAL Essentials certification and trainings of teachers, facilitators and medical professionals in clinics.
  4. Set up a scope and sequence for curriculum delivery utilizing at least 8 hours of instruction in schools and community-based settings.
  5. Create a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan using tools to monitor curriculum fidelity and program quality.
  6. Consider a community saturation approach by training schools, health care providers, government service agencies, and youth-serving agencies for maximum impact.
  7. Set up counseling protocols for non-married sexually active clients in a clinical setting.
  8. Monitor and evaluate results through pre and post testing, interviews, observation, role plays, stories of impact, customer satisfaction surveys, gathering and reporting baseline data pre and post-intervention outlining changes since intervention took place.
